Will be packing up our computers today for the move to Sacramento tomorrow, so don't know when I'll be back online.
Not that I really want to leave San Francisco, but the move is required for several reasons -- some of which I'm not going to go into -- and one of the main reasons is that climbing two flights of stairs daily is becoming harder and harder to do as I grow older and my health deteriorates and moving to another place within San Francisco is financially impossible for us. The apartment we're living in now is covered by rent control and because we've lived here for 23 years the rent, though high, is affordable by us -- to try to find anything comparable in price in San Francisco would mean a very considerable downturn in quality, space, and area (and besides which even studio apartments go for more than we're paying for a fairly large Victorian flat with two bedrooms, diningroom, livingroom, kitchen, pantry, tubroom, toilet room and back porch.)
So, I'll be back when my computer is hooked up in our new home with my sister in Sacramento.
